Precision Guide Units (PGUs) are designed to stabilize and accurately guide wire into downstream processes such as extrusion, where precise alignment into the tooling is critical. The PGU is equipped with two V-grooved rollers, each individually adjustable both vertically (up/down) and horizontally (in/out). Optional position indicators are available for each adjustment axis to ensure repeatable settings. Rollers are available as conventional grooved steel rollers or in yttria-stabilized zirconia (ZrO₂–Y₂O₃), which is particularly suitable for guiding pre-heated or hot wire due to its low heat absorption and high wear resistance.
